Directly make one single decision

Since all phenomenal appearance of both cyclic existence and the state beyond suffering do not go beyond the innate creativity of pure awareness, firmly decide that there is no other thing besides the continuous flow of this pure awareness .

Have confidence in direct liberation–dissolution

Whatever discursive thoughts arise, be they gross or subtle, by recognising them for what they are, they all arise and simultaneously dissolve into the vast expanse of the dimension of pure reality — awareness–voidness inseparable. Remain confident in this liberation.

His Eminence Dungsey Garab Rinpoche administered a throm wang to more than 4000 people at Dorji Chhoeling Goenpa in Pemagatshel on January 31.

Rinpoche also presided over a day-long Throema Tshokhor on January 30 along with some 300 local Throema practitioners comprising people from all walks of life.

This was preceded by seven days of cleansing and empowerment ritual of Gesar Saang and Serkem for continued well-being of Tsawasum. A Sachhu Bumter ceremony was also conducted to enrich and restore earth elements and sanctify environment by the nuns and tshampas of the goenpa.

It was also a privileged moment for Throema practitioners as they received sacred initiations and teachings for the first time from His Eminence. Many of the lay practitioners said that they felt assured and confident after receiving the initiations.

Hundreds of devotees took home Sachhu Bumter Vase and Throema statues. Proceeds from the sale of vases and statues were presented to the nuns of the goenpa.

People from as far as Yurung, a day’s walk from the goenpa, came to receive the blessing. This is Rinpoche’s second visit to the goenpa after it was offered to him by one of his foremost disciples, Lam Singye Dradok, in March 2007.

On the day of the wang, the hour-long footpath to the goenpa saw an endless river of people all ages. Occasionally, the human stream got jammed whenever a few elderly people found negotiating some hostile stretch of the path difficult or when mothers with infants on their back tried to be cautious.

Abi Thinley, in her sixties, ensured that her frail elder sister did not miss the blessing of Rinpoche and accompanied her to the wang. “An occasion like this rarely comes our way and that is why, I am keen on ensuring that my sister does not miss it,” she said.

Sangay Dorji from Gamong village and Sangay Dendup from Yalang village said that almost all the people from their villages locked up their houses and came for the blessing with packed lunch. “We cannot think of missing a rare occasion like this,” Sangay said.

Dorji Chhoeling Goenpa is earlier known as Totpalung Goenpa. Lam Singye Dradok’s grandfather, a respected laymonk, spent most of his life meditating there. Lam Singye revived the reputation of the place by building a small but beautiful Zangdogpelri Lhakhang and offering it to Garab Rinpoche. Today, Lam Singye privately supports 26 anims and some drupdepas of the goenpa.

With Garab Rinpoche making his annual visit to the goenpa, and many volunteers coming forth with their pledge to support the goenpa in any way possible, the continuity of the legacy of a serene Dorji Chhoeling Goenpa remains assured.

Two Estonian farms establish 'Soviet republic,' seek recognition

ST. PETERSBURG, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - Two farms in north-east Estonia have joined forces to declare an independent "Soviet republic" and intend to seek Russia's recognition, a Russian communist organization said on Wednesday.

"We no longer want to live in bourgeois Estonia, where nobody cares about the common people...with raging unemployment and corruption, and where everything depends on NATO and the Americans," Russian communists from St Petersburg, who are assisting the 'republic,' quoted its founder, Andres Tamm, as saying.

Residents and founders of the 'Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic' have already formed a national 'Soviet government,' a police force, and have begun demarcating the state's borders.

Meanwhile, residents of the republic claim that the "bourgeois" Estonian government has sent a "squad of relatives of Estonian Nazi SS veterans" to regain control over the breakaway territory.

The republic is currently drafting a treaty of friendship with Russia to be submitted to the Russian president in the next few days.

Estonia is a former Soviet republic and a current member of both NATO and the EU.

Officials from the east Estonian districts where the farms are supposed to be located confirmed that a person carrying the name Aine Saar is really registered in the area, but she is already over 80 years old.

Yet, large Russian news agencies are trying to sell this story as completely substantial.

There will be a Supreme Krodikali Tantric Initiation on January 1, 2008, 3:00pm with Dungse Garab Dorje Rinpoche in the Dudjom New Treasure centre, Taipei.

Rinpoche is the holder of direct blood (or "bone", as it is called in the Tibetan tradition) and Dharma lineages of the Dudjom New Treasure so that this initiation is complete, pure and absolute. This is an authentic empowerment, an unbroken continuity initiation.

There are 3 types of initiations, namely

i) Outer : The Krodikali Wisdom Body, Speech and Mind Initiation;

ii) Inner : The Root Krodikali Initiation and the

iii) Secret : The Supreme Krodikali Secret Initiation.

The initiation includes the hair initiation, the damaru initiation, the vajra and bell initiation, the kangling initiation, the khamar initiation, etc. In total, there are 32 symbols' initiations. It is considered as the highest secret initiation and is only given to those who are practicing chod. The initiation is not open to the public. Alcohol, tobacco make top 10 list of risky drugs

British study rated the substances more dangerous than marijuana, Ecstasy

LONDON - New "landmark" research finds that alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous than some illegal drugs like marijuana or Ecstasy and should be classified as such in legal systems, according to a new British study.

In research published Friday in The Lancet magazine, Professor David Nutt of Britain's Bristol University and colleagues proposed a new framework for the classification of harmful substances, based on the actual risks posed to society. Their ranking listed alcohol and tobacco among the top 10 most dangerous substances.

Nutt and colleagues used three factors to determine the harm associated with any drug: the physical harm to the user, the drug's potential for addiction and the impact on society of drug use. The researchers asked two groups of experts — psychiatrists specializing in addiction and legal or police officials with scientific or medical expertise — to assign scores to 20 different drugs, including heroin, cocaine, Ecstasy, amphetamines and LSD.

Nutt and his colleagues then calculated the drugs' overall rankings. In the end, the experts agreed with each other — but not with the existing British classification of dangerous substances.

Heroin and cocaine were ranked most dangerous, followed by barbiturates and street methadone. Alcohol was the fifth-most harmful drug and tobacco the ninth most harmful. Cannabis came in 11th, and near the bottom of the list was Ecstasy.

‘Current drug system is ill thought-out’
According to existing British and U.S. drug policy, alcohol and tobacco are legal, while cannabis and Ecstasy are both illegal. Previous reports, including a study from a parliamentary committee last year, have questioned the scientific rationale for Britain's drug classification system.

"The current drug system is ill thought-out and arbitrary," said Nutt, referring to the United Kingdom's practice of assigning drugs to three distinct divisions, ostensibly based on the drugs' potential for harm. "The exclusion of alcohol and tobacco from the Misuse of Drugs Act is, from a scientific perspective, arbitrary," write Nutt and his colleagues in The Lancet.

Tobacco causes 40 percent of all hospital illnesses, while alcohol is blamed for more than half of all visits to hospital emergency rooms. The substances also harm society in other ways, damaging families and occupying police services.

Nutt hopes that the research will provoke debate within the UK and beyond about how drugs — including socially acceptable drugs such as alcohol — should be regulated. While different countries use different markers to classify dangerous drugs, none use a system like the one proposed by Nutt's study, which he hopes could serve as a framework for international authorities.

"This is a landmark paper," said Dr. Leslie Iversen, professor of pharmacology at Oxford University. Iversen was not connected to the research. "It is the first real step towards an evidence-based classification of drugs." He added that based on the paper's results, alcohol and tobacco could not reasonably be excluded.

"The rankings also suggest the need for better regulation of the more harmful drugs that are currently legal, i.e. tobacco and alcohol," wrote Wayne Hall, of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, in an accompanying Lancet commentary. Hall was not involved with Nutt's paper.

While experts agreed that criminalizing alcohol and tobacco would be challenging, they said that governments should review the penalties imposed for drug abuse and try to make them more reflective of the actual risks and damages involved.

Nutt called for more education so that people were aware of the risks of various drugs. "All drugs are dangerous," he said. "Even the ones people know and love and use every day."

長壽本尊主要有三位，我們以前修過的聖度母是其中之一，此次修持佛頂尊勝佛母，希望以後有機會可以修長壽佛。究竟上，這三個長壽本尊是要使我們的正覺常在；但相對上，則是長壽的本尊。

佛頂尊勝佛母是具威德力的本尊，可以降服各種干擾或縮短壽命的障礙，也能保護我們不受邪術、醜聞、丟面子或喪失尊嚴等障難。

不論困惑、痛苦多麼深沈，我們都擁有絕對的、不變的覺悟本質，或稱「佛性」。由此內在本質來看，尊貴的佛陀和一般眾生並無差異。任何人只要去除了遮蔽其真實本性的障礙，即能成佛。

《究竟一乘寶性論》是彌勒菩薩給予無著論師有關佛性的教授。它是大乘佛法最偉大的典籍之一；尤其特別的是，它被視為大乘與金剛乘之間的橋樑。它描述佛性如何存於我們內在、如何覺察佛性，以及佛性所展現的功德為何。
