A Truptop Lama. He holds a skull drum and thigh bone trumpet in his hands, has two skull cups, bell and dorje in front of him. A "Hermit's band" or gomtak is placed over his right shoulder. 

Manual Catalogues - Bell's List of Illustrations entry: "[No. of chapter] XXXII to XXXIV. [Subject of Chapter] The Religion [Subject of Illustration] H.197 (co) Truptop Lama (e). Skull drum and thigh-bone trumpet in hands, 2 skull cups, 1 holding beer (c) and the other tea (d), bell and dorje in front of him; ka-tam (b) (long pole) on his left. "Hermit's band" (Gom-tak) over right shoulder. These men wear long hair like Sadhus. [Remarks] (e) belongs to the Nyinma sect. (c) for offering to deities (lha). (d) which he drinks himself. In this he may keep his food generally. (b) The minds of deities dwell in the ka-tam" 

Contemporary Publication - Published in 'The Religion of Tibet', Bell, C. A., Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1931, facing p.72:" 'Seated at his little table, almost naked, he held in his right hand a drum made from a human skull.' " 

Other Information - Description: Bell's Diary entry for 17th May 1921:"Rabden has, at my request, recently taken a photo of a Trup-tor priest (See List of Illustrations, Book II, (chap 32-35), bottom of page 19). The Trup-tor told him "Nobody has succeeded in photographing me, though several have tried, for I have a god ( lha) inside me." Then, as an after-thought he added, "Still if your photo comes out well, you might give me a copy." // It has come out very well, and Rabden has given him a copy accordingly. He was very pleased to get it, has had it framed with glass and all complete and put it up in his room. He made no further remark about the god inside him." [Vol. X., p.59]

Rules for 3-day Krodikali retreat in Ipoh

Understanding and Abiding by the Rules:

...
By entering this retreat, kindly acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to abide by the rules and regulations set by Garab Rinpoche. There are sixteen of them in total.

1. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to take shower.

2. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to change clothes.

3. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to apply make up or any other skin care products.

4. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, the use of mobile phone and house phone are strictly prohibited.

‎5. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to talk from 5.30am till over 4th section.

6. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to leave the retreat hall during the entire practice session.

7. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, eating or drinking in the retreat hall is strictly prohibited.

8. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to talk or discuss on family or relatives matters and any business affairs. This rule is to be followed even when you have left the retreat hall and reached home.

‎9. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are required to be in full vegetarian.

10. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to engage in sexual intercourse.

11. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are required to reach centre the latest by 5.20am without fail. Gate will close at 5:25pm.

12. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are required to generate the renunciation mind, the expectation to be free from samsara and to attain enlightenment.

‎13. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to dress in elaborate attires and wear any jewelleries and watches.

14. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants are not allowed to do any legs stretching during the entire practice session.

15. During the 3 days KRODIKALI RETREAT, retreatants who go home or stay in the hotel are not allowed watching TV or reading newspaper.

16. Retreatants who have received the Supreme Initiation of Krodikali are required to bring your practice robes which you will be receiving during the supreme initiation.

Buddhists Hold Krodhi Kali Prayers At Bodh Gaya

Bodh Gaya, November 21 (ANI): Buddhists from across the world congregated at Bodh Gaya in India's eastern Bihar state for a special ceremony on Thursday. Bodh Gaya is said to be the place where Lord Buddha gained enlightenment some 2,500 years ago. Devotees said attending the ceremony gave them a lot of satisfaction. Apart from India and Bhutan, a large number of monks from many South-Asian countries attended the ceremony. Buddhist monks said they prayed for world peace.
Very nice, though with one significant misconception:
The report constantly refers to all the practitioners as monks, yet most of the participants were not monks (or nuns) in the most common sense, but lay practitioners and yogis/yoginis- the so-called "tantric monks and nuns".
That is exactly what baffles most witnesses of the Dudjom Throemai Tshogbum Chhenmo: sure, masses of monks and nuns turn out at Bodh Gaya for grand events like the Nyingma or Kagyu Monlams- after all, it is their "job" to pray and practice. But thousands of "lay" people, all practicing the rather sophisticated Krodikali Chod...

I was told is the real Buddha.
Recognizing this should help me
Not to be stuck with thoughts of hierarchy.

Mind’s ultimate nature, its emptiness aspect,
I was told is the real Dharma.
Recognizing this should help me
Not to be stuck with thoughts of political correctness.

Mind’s ultimate nature, its vivid aspect,
I was told is the real Sangha.
Recognizing this should help me
Not to be stuck with thoughts of equal rights.

One cannot disassociate emptiness from vividness.
This inseparability I was told is the Guru.
Recognizing this should help me
Not to be stuck with depending on chauvinist lamas.

This nature of mind has never been stained by duality,
This stainlessness I was told is the deity.

Not to be stuck with the categories of “gender” or “culture.”

This nature of mind is spontaneously present.

Inimene on ju loll. Ta peab ju kogu maailma viina ära jooma, enne kui avastab, et se on mõttetu.

Koorijuht Tiia-Ester Loitme (70) püüab dresseerida unenägusid, et need talle paremini meelde jääksid.
"Minu eripära on see, et mul pole vaja äratuskella. Kui ma ütlen endale, et ma ärkan mingil kellaajal, siis ma ärkan ka.
Näiteks kui mul on koolis tunnid, siis tõusen ma üles kell kuus, sest ma armastan pool tundi duši all solistada. Sulistan, mulistan ja laulan ja ohkan duši all, et "oh taevake, mis must väiksest väetikesest täna küll saab!"
Vesi peseb selle teadmatuse mu pealt maha ja mul hakkab kergem. See on sama, mida teeb arst või masseerija, kui ta sinuga on lõpetanud - peseb käed puhtaks ja vesi viib halva minema.
Nii algab minu päev.
Täna hommikul sadas lund ja see oli muinasjutt. See ilm pani kohe rõõmust ringi tuiskama. Ja siis tulin kella kaheksaks klassi ja avastasin: kaheteistkümnes klass üles ärganud ja kohale tulnud! Väljas sajab paksu lund, helbed keerutavad lampide valgusvihus, me kuulame muusikat. Ma panen peale Tormise "Virmalised" tsüklist "Talvemustrid". Või räägin muusikast ja see on enneolematult armastusväärne, et ma olen selle seltskonnaga siin tunnis. Mis saab olla veel toredam! Ilmselgelt on see mu päeva üks kõrgpunkt.
Koolipäevadel söön ma lõunat koolis. Üldiselt - see võttis tükk aega, enne kui ma veendusin söömise mõttetuses. Teine asi, mida ma olen avastanud, on joomise mõttetus.
Ma võin hüpata hommikul voodist välja ja ei pea muretsema, et mu jalad ei kanna või midagi sellist. Aga inimene on ju loll. Ta peab ju kogu maailma viina ära jooma, enne kui ta avastab, et see on mõttetu!
Kokad hetkeks tarduvad, kui ma sööklasse saabun, ja küsivad, mida siis täna? Ja ma ütlen, et arvestage sellega, et mul peavad täna rahvariided selga minema.
Kujutad sa ette – laulupeol ei länud mul rahvariided selga! Terve Eesti rahvas oli rahvariietes ja mul oli seljas seesama must ürp, millega ma Los Angelesest Grammy auhinda vastu võtmast tulin. Ma nägin välja nagu mingi must tõuk, aga mitte keegi ei öelnud mulle, et mine poodi, osta endale valge pluus ja pane sõlg ette.
Aga riietega on nii, et õhus on alati midagi, mis sunnib selga panema just täpselt seda või teist. Mõnikord tulen kooriproovi ja vaatan - kõik on mustas. Ja siis ma vaatan, missugune ma ise olen – samuti mustas! Läheb nädal mööda – kõik on punases. Ja ma ise ka punases!!!
Mul on õmbleja Iia Lääne, kellele meeldivad mu röögatud naljad. Kui ma endale midagi ostan, siis lööme igale asjale kohe käärid sisse ja teeme ta totaalselt ringi ja ei jäta pilbast pilpa peale.
Pärast tunde kolan ma linna peal. Vahel lähen kuskile poodi sisse. Minuga on ju nii, et kui ma midagi kuskilt ostnud olen, siis olen ma saanud ju kohe ka sõbra. Ja siis ma käin mööda poode ja ütlen sõpradele tere. Ja siis nad ütlevad, et ma pean tingimata ühe või teise asja ära ostma. Ja siis nad ei tunne neid asju ära, mis ma juba ostnud olen, ja mis mul seljas on, sest ma olen neile kõigile käärid sisse löönud!
Vahel astun kuskile kohvikusse, joon mõne uhke mahla, Pegasuses näiteks greibimahla või Olümpias porgandimahla ja võtan mingi toreda salati.
Raamatuid ma ostan ka, ega ma ainult hilpe ei osta. Aga romaane küll mitte, need lugesin ma kõik juba siis läbi, kui olin kuus-seitse aastat vana. Praegu on mul käsil suur loomade entsüklopeedia, mida ma uurin ja millest ma loomade iseloomusid õpin. See on väga naljakas, aga ma ise olen väga paljude loomade moodi.
Kuu aega tagasi õpetasin ma oma Mustamäe korteris varest lendama.
Ta oli pesast alla kukkunud ja keegi teda kätte ei saanud, aga mina sain. Mina sain! Viisin ta sõrme peal tuppa ja õpetasin teda seal. Ja kui ma lennutasin varese rõdult metsa poole, siis läks ta lendu, tuli tiiruga tagasi ja lendas mulle õlale. Vares on tark. Tore on järgida, kuidas ta oma silmi pööritab, kui ta milleski kahtleb; kuidas ta pea alla rippu laseb, kui ta uniseks jääb; kuidas ta noka selja taha sulgede vahele paneb, kui ta magama sätib; ja kuidas talle suled silma lähevad ja kuidas ta varbad sulguvad, kui ta kuskile maandub. Lõpuks ta lendas ära, sest ma õpetasin ta lendama. Mina õpetasin!
Mul ei ole kunagi igav.
Kui mul on kolm korda nädalas õhtul Ellerheinaga proov - need on samuti päeva kõrghetked! - siis ülejäänud õhtutel käin ma kontserdil või sõidan autoga või kükitan mere ääres. Ma olen selline kutt, et mulle väga meeldib autoga sõita. Kui ma õppesõitu tegin, siis ma vedasin juba kolmanda tunni ajal autoga kanamune ja pärast jäneseid ja ükski ei läinud katki ja keegi ei saanud viga. Ja kui ma liiga aeglaselt sõitsin, ütles sõiduõpetaja Mai Metsik: "Mida muneme!?" Ja kui ta enam ei öelnud "mida muneme!?", siis ta ütles, et "Ära siis nii kiiresti ka sõida!".
Mingit kindlat magama minemise aega mul ei ole. Nii palju kui öös on kellaaegu, nii palju on varante, millal ma magama võin minna. Uni tuleb üldiselt hästi. Välja arvatud siis, kui päeva jooksul on juhtunud midagi enneolematut - see on vaja uuesti läbi mõtelda. Või siis, kui oled kurb. Kurb olemiseks on viimasel ajal palju põhjust, sest minu generatsioon hakkab siit ilmast vaikselt ära minema. Siis laulan ma endamisi voodis: Ma olen väike orvuke!
Mind vihastab see, et kui ma ärkan üles, silmad on veel kinni, ja ma mäletan selgesti, mis ma unes nägin, ja kui ma siis silmad lahti teen, ei mäleta ma unenäost enam mitte midagi.
Nüüd teen ma meelega silmad lahti ja püüan unenägusid dresseerida, et nad mul meeles oleksid ja kuskile ära ei kaoks!

Directly meeting with one's own nature

This fresh and present awareness beyond all consideration of the three times, is, in itself, the primordial awakenedness that is spontaneously present pure awareness. Such is direct introduction to one's own nature.



Directly make one single decision

Since all phenomenal appearance of both cyclic existence and the state beyond suffering do not go beyond the innate creativity of pure awareness, firmly decide that there is no other thing besides the continuous flow of this pure awareness .



Have confidence in direct liberation–dissolution

Whatever discursive thoughts arise, be they gross or subtle, by recognising them for what they are, they all arise and simultaneously dissolve into the vast expanse of the dimension of pure reality — awareness–voidness inseparable. Remain confident in this liberation.
